Virt Manager
1 min read
Virtual Machine Manager (virt-manager) is a desktop application for managing virtual machines through libvirt. It is the graphical side of what virsh does on the command line, aimed mainly at QEMU/KVM.
Features
• Create VMs with a wizard: pick an ISO, network install or existing disk image, then memory, CPUs and storage.
• Graphical console for each VM, over SPICE or VNC, with clipboard sharing and USB redirection.
• Edit hardware of a VM: disks, network interfaces, CPU model, firmware (BIOS or UEFI), TPM and passthrough devices.
• Snapshots: take, revert and delete them.
• Live statistics: CPU, memory, disk and network graphs per VM.
• Remote hosts: connect to libvirt on another machine over SSH (qemu+ssh://user@host/system) and manage its VMs as if they were local.
• virt-install: create VMs from the command line (comes with virt-manager)
• virt-viewer: a standalone console window for one VM
• virt-clone: copy an existing VM
